Australia - Telstra launches Freedom Connect plans

by Josie Sephton | 5月 20, 2011

All Freedom Connect plans offer a monthly allowance for calls, texts and MMS to all Australian fixed and mobile numbers, as well as increasing levels of free data. At the upper end the plans also come with unlimited texts, subject to a fair use policy.

The Freedom Connect plans are available both as a BYO option (SIM only) or customers have a selection of handsets to choose from.

In other news, Optus recently launched new prepaid plans:

- AUD 2.00 Days: Daily usage fee is AUD2 and this entitles the customer to free calls, texts and data. The recharge rates range from AUD 10.00 to AUD 100.00 and the validity of the credit rises depending on the value; AUD 10.00 is valid for 10 days, AUD 30.00 for 30 days etc.

- Crew Cap: depending on the recharge value, e.g. AUD 30.00 to AUD 100.00, each comes with increasing amounts of Any Network Credit which can be used for calls, texts, MMS and data.

- The Long Expiry Cap plans are almost identical to the Crew Cap plans in that they offer Any Network Credit plus additional Optus to Optus credit. The difference being the credit is valid for 186 days as opposed to 60 days for the Crew Cap plans.
