As of the 15th of June Vodafone will offer new roaming rates. Furthermore, it is to extend its Vodafone Passport service to South Africa during the months of June and July. Customers will pay £1 per MB for the first 5 MBs in Europe and £3 per MB for the first 5MB in the rest of the world. Furthermore, customers abroad will also receive a free real-time text alert each time they are about to reach the end of the data allowance. Customers travelling to South Africa in June and July will benefit from a special Vodafone Passport promotion. Connection charge will be £0.75 and normal UK rates apply. PAYG customers, that have either inclusive minutes or Vodafone Freedom pack minutes, will have the cost of the call taken from these. Texts cost a flat rate of £0.11. Vodafone has simplified charges into four zones: Europe, Asia Pacific, North America and the Rest of the World.
