Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards produce outstanding winners at MWC 2017

Beyond the Hype at MWC 2017, the Global Mobile Awards recognize the real achievements of the industry market and technology leaders in 2016 that are already in the marketplace. Below we highlight some of the leading winners.

First the leading service providers:

Orange won two Categories:

KT and SK Telecom each won one Category

Although SK Telecom’s T Identity & Authentication Platform was edged out by Orange’s Check & Go (see above) for the Mobile Connect Award for Authentication & Identity

Vodafone shared Outstanding Award for 'Inspirational Efforts in Support of Syrian Refugees' plus one one category

Reliance Jio, Jazz (Pakistan),Turkcell and Turk Telcom each won one:

And the leading vendors that won include:

Huawei who won in 3 Categories

Samsung won in 3 categories too:

Nokia won 1

Ericsson won the Green Award with Telenor

Altiostar of Tewksbury, Massachusetts (USA) - a company that Cisco invested in and which just announced cooperation with SK Telecom on Software Defined RAN won both won the Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough for its vRAN solution and was the CTOs choice

Samsung won Smartphone 2016 (see above) but Amazon won 'Disruptive Device Innovation Award'

Niantic won Best Overall Mobile App (Judge’s Choice) for:

EcoNet Wireless and Mahindra Comviva together won the Best Mobile Payment Solution:

VMware won for Best Mobile Cloud App. with

However everyone who made the Shortlist - including:

  • AT&T ( IoT Platform, Capstone Metering and Connected Water)
  • China Mobile ( Indoor 4G Digital Experience Service, China Mobile for FMC CDN Solution, FDD/TDD Converged Antenna) all deployed with Huawei
  • Affirmed Networks (Mobile Content Cloud NFV Solution)
  • NetNumber (TITAN)
  • ZTE (ZTE NB-IoT based E2E IoT solution, High Speed Railway VoLTE Solution and Smart City Yinchuan)

were already winners just by being listed here.
