by David Kerr | 5月 27, 2016

2015 was another year of strong growth in the apps ecosystem. The market reached $52 Billion, and Strategy Analytics projects that by 2021 this will increase to $82 Billion. The games category continues to dominate downloads and spend, capturing over half of all app spend. Social Networking is the second largest category by revenue. Utilities is the third largest revenue generating category on phones, while on tablets Productivity takes third spot.

Google Play currently captures 45% of Apps revenue while other app stores remain modest throughout our forecast period to 2021. IoS downloads are on track to pass 50B annually over the next few years while Google Play download volumes will grow faster at 11% over the next five years.
