Xiaomi VR: Moving from "Geek" to "Chic"

by David MacQueen | 8月 04, 2016

Xiaomi has soft-launched a range of soft-touch, fashionable VR headsets, and although I haven't had the chance to try one yet, the look seems like a big leap forwards from existing Cardboard VR headsets.

Although the specs haven't been released, it would seem to fit the right dimensions for a Cardboard-compatible headset. The "fashionista" covers are made of soft-touch lycra cotton and there's a chunky zipper to keep the headset in place. All in all, it looks like a neat and attractive design. I've always felt that I must look like a bit of a fool when wearing VR headsets, so perhaps the camouflage version will help me stay concealed!

More seriously, these help move the VR headset away from the "geek" image they have today and may even help build a greater installed base among the less tech-oriented consumer.
