Millennials represent an important segment in the mobile marketplace, with generally high levels of mobile phone use and integration of mobile applications into their everyday activities. A recent research report published by AppOptix compared the top app categories Millennials use with Non-Millennials. From the analysis we discovered that among the top five most frequently used app categories (based on average minutes/month),
Millennials use entertainment apps over 16.5 hours/month, which is almost 78% greater than their elder peers (as shown in the figure below).
It’s also worth noting that other app categories were virtually equal for the period of analysis, with the exception of Gaming, where Non-Millennials averaged almost 25 hours of gaming per month or 25% greater than Millennials across all gaming genres.
