According to the latest forecast report from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) service: Global Smartphone Revenues and ASP Forecasts by 88 Countries: 2012 to 2027, global smartphone wholesale (trade) revenue will grow +2% YoY in 2022, mainly driven by the solid growth of smartphone wholesale ASP which will post +10% YoY growth rate offseting the forecasted sales volume decline of -7%. The ASP growth is due to greater mix of premium 5G models from Apple, Samsung and other brands.
Global smartphone wholesale revenue will resume the upwards track from 2024 through 2027 but the rate of growth will keep diminishing. South Korea and Japan will deliver the highest average selling prices (ASP) for smartphones while parts of Africa and Asia Pacific will generate the lowest ASPs.
