We posted this week a brief,
informal survey among our contacts on LinkedIn.
We asked whether the new
Facebook Ray-Ban Stories smartglasses, on sale now for US$300 in the US and other select countries, will be a
hit or
miss. Will they fly off the shelves or stay unsold this Q4 Xmas holiday season?
The results are in, and they are surprisingly
positive. Some 2 in 5 of respondents say they expect Facebook Ray-Ban Stories to be a
hit. That is higher than expected.
Despite the glasses'
limited camera-centric functionality, a good chunk of the techy, affluent crowd among our influential contacts worldwide think Facebook Stories, with their slick design and famous brands, could
surprise to the upside.
