We polled tech influencers worldwide on LinkedIn and asked if they would
buy a pair of Snap's new
AR Spectacles.
Snapchat has built an augmented-reality overlay on futuristic
sunglasses.
The product today is
beta, but speculation suggests the retail
price will eventually be between US$400-800 in North America or beyond.
Our
informal survey results can be surprisingly
positive for
Snap Spectacles.
Some 14-38% of "high-end" tech influencers could buy a pair -- if available.
That would mean something like an immediate
addressable market of perhaps 5-10 million customers globally, worth US$2-8 billion in cumulative revenue. At 5% net margin, Snap might eventually generate US$100 million (or more) of profit.
This is the potential
low-hanging fruit for Snap.
