TCL Intros 4G Kidswatch at 1&1 in Germany

by Neil Mawston | 2月 24, 2021

Mobile operator, 1&1, has partnered recently with TCL to launch a 4G kidswatch in Germany.

TCL's Movetime Family Watch MT40 comes with LTE videocalling, an SOS button for safety, real-time location tracking, safe-zone alarm, inactivity alarm, step-counter, distance measure, and 600 mAh battery for 2-5 days of usage. This is a comms device, security blanket and fitness tracker rolled into one, optimized for families with children under 10 years of age.

The MT40 watch comes with an LTE Kids tariff that delivers a modest 1GB data, 100 texts and call-minutes for US$8-12 per month. If you have multiple children, this could get fairly expensive very quickly, and run into hundreds of dollars / Euros per year. The MT40 could be pricier than you think.
