Samsung Galaxy Watch Active Adds Blood-Pressure Sensing

by Steven Waltzer | 2月 20, 2019

Samsung this week launched one new smartwatch, two fitnessbands, and a pair of Bluetooth earbuds to challenge Apple AirPods.

The Galaxy Watch Active is notably interesting, because it is the first mainstream player to include blood-pressure monitoring in a mainstream smartwatch (available in only 5 countries).

The Watch Active has also removed the rotating bezel, which was a key differentiator of previous Samsung smartwatches (versus Apple Watch’s side-dial). .

Galaxy Fit and Fit e are optimized for casual athletes and runners. They are thin, lightweight fitnessbands with decent styling and available in several colors such as white or yellow.

Galaxy Buds are cord-free earbuds with Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, and touch control, blended with a goodlooking formfactor. Battery life is up to 6 hours of Bluetooth streaming, and 1.7 hours of usage can be gained from 15 minutes of quick-charging.
