Good to see
Xiaomi this week promoting two important smartwatch models to its growing
wearables portfolio.
The
Watch S1 has been on sale already since Dec 2021. The
S1 Active is new and will be on sale worldwide from March 2022, in regions such as Europe, China, and India.
Retail
prices instore or online start from around US$200 for the S1 Active, and US$270 for the flagship S1. They are midrange devices.
Watch S1 has a 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen and competes with
Samsung, Fossil and alike.
Watch S1 Active carries a 1.4-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and is much more
fitness-focused, with plenty of health apps, lightweight, and sportier wristbands. It goes up against Garmin, Fitbit, etc.
However, neither model currently has an option for 4G connectivity. That may well exclude the S1 range from stocking at some mobile
operators. Not all channels will sell it.
