Cellular Wearables to Grow 30% in 2022

by Neil Mawston | 1月 20, 2022

New research from our Wearables (WDE) tracker predicts worldwide shipments of cellular-enabled wearable devices will grow an impressive +30% in 2022.

Cellular wearables are growing fast, as device makers develop more-efficient cellular chipsets, better SIM or eSIM, and smaller, denser batteries.

Smartwatches and fitnessbands, for now, are the biggest categories for cellular wearables. They can be optimized for kids, adults, or seniors.

Hardware makers, like Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Imoo and OPPO, are leading the charge.

Carriers, such as Verizon or NTT Docomo, have an opportunity to build additional ARPU or loyalty.

We predict the first 5G wearables to arrive in 2022.
