- Fossil has announced four new hybrid watch designs, two with the Fossil brand: Fossil Q Cameron and Fossil Q Jacqueline, and two new designs of the Skagen Holst. The devices feature activity tracking and basic notification capability, keeping a classic analog watch style and offering battery life in terms of months, not days. The new designs are slim and current and should squarely target their fashion-forward target audience. They do not include fitness-focused features, however, such as heart rate or GPS.
Feature watches (connected watches without 3rd party apps, sometimes called basic watches) primarily consist of analog hybrid watches, kid/elder tracker watches, and proprietary OS sports watches, and are forecasted to grow 24% in 2019, reaching 26% of the total wearables market.
