Honor did a global launch of its Honor Magic 5 series and a foldable Magic Vs in MWC Barcelona 2023. This indicates its intention to compete in the global smartphone market and not just China where the market has kind of matured.

We believe it is Honor's reentry to Europe and possibly the rest of the world.

Honor Magic 5 Pro: The key focus was on the camera and display. It packs a dual selfie camera and triple rear camera(50MP primary +50MP telephoto +50MP ultrawide). Other key specs include 6.81-inch OLED LPTO ( low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 5100 mAh battery, 66W fast charge support and 50W wireless charge support. Honor Magic Vs: The key focus was on the foldable supeslim design and how thay have tried to minimized the gap between two flaps. Honestly, this device looks like a whole complete device in folded form factor as well. Other key specs include 7.9 inches display, single piece casted hinge (from having 92 components in Honor Magic V to just 4 in Honor Magic Vs, they have come a long way), Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, triple camera setup (54MP primary + 8MP telephoto + 50MP ultrawide), 5000 mAh battery.

Both the devices Honor Magic Vs and Honor Magic 5 fall in the premium category priced at EUR 1599 and EUR 1199 respectively. Honor is going to target richer countries of Western Europe with this.

Other than the above 2, Honor also launched Honor Magic 5 (just a little downgraded from the Pro) and Honor Magic 5 Lite (for the larger audiance with a lot of focus on battery life).

Honor Magic 5 Lite key specs: It packs triple rear camera(50MP primary +54MP telephoto +32MP ultrawide). Other key specs include 6.67 OLED display, Snapdragon 695 SoC, 5100 mAh battery, 40W fast charge support. They focussed a lot on the phone's battery lasting around 2 days in the launch. It is priced at EUR 369 to cater to masses.

Now that the Honor is not Huawei's entity it will be interesting to see whether Honor is able to regain the trust of the people in Europe and elsewhere. Also, fingers crossed for US sanctions not coming Honor's way.
