Q3’22: Vivo has its task cut on Volume and Value Growth

by Rajeev Nair | 11月 04, 2022

Vivo was the fifth largest smartphone vendor globally in Q3 2022. Its smartphone volumes declined by -21% annually in the quarter. Wholesale Smartphone Revenues too, follow suit, with a decline of -15%. Detailed quarterly analysis is available here from our Wireless Smartphone Strategy (WSS) Service.

Wholesale Average Selling Price (ASP’s) for the vendor grew as its profit margins continued to stagnate. Vivo has its task cut out and what can it do to grow its volumes and value?

5G segment too is increasingly becoming a concern for Vivo despite its leadership in China, which is the world's largest 5G market. How can Vivo turn around here?

It upgraded to Vivo X Fold+ in the quarter? Did this move the needle for it in the overall Foldable segment?

Our recommendations are available in the insight report on all of the above facets of Vivo. SA also employed the SA Vendor Lens to evaluate the vendor on multitude of factors and below is a snapshot of the same for Q3 2022.
