Realme is a star brand in Western Europe. Its smartphone
marketshare has
tripled to 3% in the past year and the firm is now a top-6 player in the region.
Realme is looking to build on that growth with the rumoured launch
next week of a new budget 9 5G model for the European market. The
9 5G has been available in Asia for a couple months, and now the device is finally headed for Europe.
It is a 6.5-inch model LCD model, with Android 11 and the Realme UI 2.0 interface. The 9 5G is set to be very competitive on
price, a perceived budget model, and this should help the vendor lift its marketshare even higher across the region for H2 2022.
Of course, Realme still only plays in a
handful of European markets. We find Spain and Belgium are among their strongholds, while Norway, UK and others remain somewhat weaker for now (see
here).
