OPPO launched new Find X5 series in China on February 24th, 2022. The new series include three variants: Find X5, Find X5 Pro, and Find X5 Pro (MKT version).
Imaging remains as the key selling point of the new flagship devices. Compared with their predecessor, Find X5 and Find X5 Pro come with a dedicated imaging NPU - MariSilicon X, which is OPPO’s first in-house developed chipset. Coupled with dual IMX766 sensor at rear, both Find X5 and Find X5 Pro promise 4K night video-shooting feature, first in Android smartphone camp.
Find X5 is powered by Qualcomm 888 chipset and features 6.55-inch OLED display, 4800mAh battery, 80W fast-charging capability, and Hasselblad Natural Colour Calibration. Find X5 Pro is upgraded to Qualcomm 8gen1 chipset, 6.7-inch OLED (E4) display, Five-axis OIS system, and 5000mAh battery. The Find X5 Pro (MKT version) is powered by MTK 9000 chipset. Its rear camera system includes the dual IMX766 sensor but not MariSilicon X chipset.
These three models will be available in China first. Their retail price ranges from RMB 3999 (USD 633) to RMB 6799 (USD 1076). The starting price is roughly 11% lower than that of Find X3 series. This will help to lift the sales of Find X5 series in the upcoming quarters.
OPPO currently ranked 4th in global premium segment in 2021, according to our latest report VALUE SHARE: Global Smartphone Revenue, ASP and Profit by Vendor by Price Tier : Q4 2021. We consider the launch of Find X5 series will strengthen OPPO’s offering in the premium segment, where OPPO is eyeing to be the third largest vendor after Apple and Samsung.
