Global smartphone shipments predicted to grow +5% in 2022

by Linda Sui | 12月 01, 2021

According to the latest report from Strategy Analytics Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) Service, Global Smartphone Shipments Forecast by Vendor by Region by Quarter, global smartphone shipments predicted to grow +5% in 2022, up from +3% in 2021. Component supply and Covid-19 remain a challenge for the whole industry in H1 2022, but will ease in H2 2022.

Samsung will maintain the leadership in 2021 and 2022, followed by Apple. Leading Chinese vendors Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo keep benefiting from LG exit and the sharp fall of Huawei in 2021, but the growth potential would be capped in 2022.

This report forecasts global smartphone shipments by region by quarter for 38 of the world's largest vendors from 2015 to 2022. Global handset and feature phone shipment by vendor by quarter forecast data are included in the report too. The report is a valuable tool for component makers, software developers, operators and other stakeholders to support their planning activities.
