JioPhone Next Launch Delayed - Possible Reasons and Impact

by Abhilash Kumar | 9月 10, 2021

JioPhone Next launch which was planned for 10th Sep has been delayed. Just before the launch it has been shifted towards the festive season around Diwali.

This extra time will not only help the vendor prepare better for the launch but also will mitigate the risk of component shortage happening globally. With the current global component shortage, the components prices have soared hence it would be difficult for Jio to launch device at decided price point. Shifting it near Diwali will help on controlling the pricing as the shortage issue would be somewhat resolved by then.

We believe, this time cushion will be helpful in advanced testing and rectifying the glitches identified during different levels of testing. The feedback of sample users who were using the device for testing and review would also be taken into consideration in this timeframe to further improvise the product.

If the launch would have happened on 10th Sep, then JioPhone would have missed on first thrust of sales because people prefer not to buy new things during Shradh period which starts 20th September in India for 15 days. Launching a new device during festive season will give a good start to sales because of the created demand as people are eager to buy new things during that period.
