OPPO launched new Find X3 series on March 11th, 2021. The devices which are launched are Oppo Find X3 Pro, Oppo Find X3 Neo and Oppo Find X3 Lite in the overseas market; and Oppo Find X3 Pro, Oppo Find X3 for China market. The new devices stands out from the crowd easily with its unique design and its impressive camera setup. All phones feature quad-camera setup, in-display fingerprint sensors and also run on Android 11 OS. Oppo Find X3 Pro, X3, X3 Neo and X3 Lite are powered by Snapdragon 888, 875, 865, 765G respectively.

Find X3 Pro and Find X3 Nero will be priced of US$600+ band (wholesale price). It is the vendor’s latest efforts in USD 600+ price tier and it is also among the few products that OPPO launches internationally at one time. In our research, we have tracked that $600 and above is still dominated by Samsung, Apple and Huawei. Recently, Huawei has scaled back significantly and hence Chinese vendors have opportunities.

This signals the vendor’s strong ambition to fulfil Huawei’s vacuum in premium segments as well as in overseas markets. Compared with Find X2 launched last year, Find X3 is better positioned to gain more share, given OPPO’s solid growth in developed markets including Western Europe and Japan in recent quarters. However, if OPPO really want to replace Huawei being the major player (top 3 list) in US$600+ bands, it has to duplicate the success of Huawei’s P and Mate series, not only in China, but also in overseas markets. In Western European market, for instance, tapping the postpaid segment of major carriers and convincing affluent western consumers remains a challenge ahead.
