Apple Took 55% of Global Smartphone Value Share in Q4 2020

According to the latest report from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) service: VALUE SHARE: Global Smartphone Revenue, ASP and Profit by Vendor by Price Tier:Q4 2020, global smartphone wholesale ASP and revenue went up +3% YoY in Q4 2020, thanks to the solid performance of Apple iPhones.

Apple posted a strong momentum and took a record high 55% value share during the holiday quarter, driven by the 5G iPhone super cycle. iPhone wholesale revenue soared +17% YoY. Samsung ranked the second place but lost value share by two percentage points annually.

The report provides quarterly global handset and smartphone shipments, wholesale (transfer) pricing, revenue metrics, as well as operating profit and margin for 28 major vendors from Q1 2010 to Q4 2020. Global smartphone vendor market share by price-tier and global revenue-share tracking by PRICE-TIER for all 27 vendors are also included.
