Lenovo-Motorola’s Financials Up, Volumes Down

by Boris Metodiev | 2月 09, 2021

Lenovo-Motorola total global smartphone shipments fell -9% YoY in Q4 2020. That is four quarters in a row, and 11 out of the last 13, with declining volumes for the company. Full year shipments also went down -17% YoY in 2020.

Great shipments growth in five of the six global regions was completely wiped out by the decline in Central & Latin America. The coronavirus crisis continues to have a negative effect in the vendor’s main markets in the region, Brazil and Mexico.

On a more positive note, all financials were up for the company. Its smartphone business was back into profit, after three losing quarters in a row. Estimated global wholesale smartphone revenue went up +14% YoY and ASP grew +26% YoY, both to some of their highest levels in recent years.
