Xiaomi Remained Soft in China in Q2 2019 but Posted Strong Growth in Overseas

Xiaomi maintained the 4th position in global smartphone market in Q2 2019. Although its shipments remained flat from a year ago, Xiaomi’s wholesale revenue grew robustly thanks to the ASP improvement.

Xiaomi remained soft in domestic market in Q2, while its growth in India was slowing down. To tackle the challenge, Xiaomi is now expanding its product portfolio for more addressable market and allocating more resources in new markets. Its efforts are bearing fruits. Xiaomi grew rapidly in overseas market especially in Western Europe and Central Eastern Europe this quarter.

Looking forward, although Xiaomi will keep struggling in China, we expect its overseas markets would partly offset its decline in China in 2019.
