According to the latest report from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) services: Global Smartphone Revenue & ASP Forecast by 88 Countries : 2012-2022, global smartphone wholesale revenue will growth +8% YoY in 2017, from the dip of 2016. Key drivers include higher iPhone demand, growing portion of replacement sales from emerging markets, as well as tech innovations (flexible display etc.) and migrations (from LTE to LTE-A).

Japan and South Korea will deliver the highest average selling prices (ASP) for smartphones while parts of Africa and Asia Pacific (India) will generate the lowest ASPs.

We forecast the 4 largest countries to account for 56% of all smartphone wholesale revenues worldwide in 2017. We recommend prioritizing these four countries to get the biggest bang for your buck. They have huge populations and buy plenty of 4G and 4.5G phones. The "big 4" countries will be China, US, Japan and India.

We forecast the 10 largest countries to account for 71% of all smartphone wholesale revenues worldwide in 2017. We recommend prioritizing these ten countries to get an even bigger bang for your buck. The "big 10" countries will be China, US, Japan, India, Indonesia, Brazil, South Korea, UK, Germany and France.

The report is a valuable tool for device vendors, operators, component manufacturers, software developers, financial analysts, car makers and other stakeholders who want to size the mobile phone market by revenue and price for dozens of countries and regions.
