Recent research (
here) from our
Smartphone Model Tracker (SMT) finds the
Huawei Mate X2 4G foldable was the world's no.1
priciest mass-market smartphone during Q4 2021.
We estimate its global average trade price
topped US$2,000 during the quarter. It even outpriced the super-premium Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max 5G and Microsoft Surface Duo 2.
Mate X2 has a huge
8-inch screen, emerging HarmonyOS, and 50MP camera. Big specs for a big price.
So far, the big price is not leading to big revenue.
We estimate its global smartphone revenue
marketshare at under 0.1% during the quarter.
