With the Internet currently working up a frenzy about a rumored new Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone, we took a quick look at its predecessor S21 shipments last year.

Our Smartphone Model Tracker (SMT) finds Samsung Galaxy S21 grabbed around 1% of the worldwide smartphone market by shipments in the second half of 2021. North America and South Korea were among its strongholds.

Of course, the S21 is a year-old now, and the S22 is rumored to be its next replacement and upgrade. A new S22 suite of models and sub-models would give this halo smartphone family a nice bump in volumes in the coming months.
