Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus Models Replace Huawei in the German Smartphone Market in Q1’21

by Juha Winter | 5月 20, 2021

Although Chinese Huawei’s fortunes have long since been on the decline in the competitive smartphone market of Germany, the vendor managed to capture nearly 13% of the smartphone shipments there for the whole of 2020. In the first quarter of 2021, however, Huawei’s market share had collapsed from 12% in Q4’20 to just 3%, with only a couple of models still appearing on the top-50 list.

It's Xiaomi, OnePlus, and more recently also Oppo and Vivo that are now starting to feature more prominently in Germany. Each of these vendors with the exception of Vivo had between 5 and 6 models in the top-50, with Xiaomi in particular having popular models such as the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Mi 10T Lite 5G within the top-25. Vivo, a brand large unknown in Germany since just a couple of quarters ago, also now has some models in the market that are seeing increasing popularity.
