Xiaomi Smartphone Models Remained Strong in Indonesia and Other Emerging Markets in Q3’20

Previously in this blog, we wrote about Xiaomi making phenomenal market share gains in many Western European markets, primarily at the expense of Huawei. However, according to Strategy Analytics’ Smartphone Model Tracker (SMT) research, in India, Xiaomi’s lead over Samsung has shrunk recently, being less than 2 percentage points in Q3’20.

In Indonesia, Xiaomi continues strong, the Redmi Note 9 being a particularly popular device there. Since Q2’20, Vivo is the leading smartphone vendor in Indonesia, but Xiaomi’s market share has remained stable at the same time.

In Pakistan, Xiaomi has emerged as a strong number two in recent quarters, placing right behind Samsung in terms of market share in Q3’20. Xiaomi has been among the fastest growing brands there, along with Vivo and Realme. Xiaomi’s top-sellers in Pakistan include the Redmi 9A and 9C.
