In Q4, 2017, Huawei outpaced the dominant big two (Apple and Samsung) with two of the top five best selling models in Spain. Spain is one of Western Europe's major smartphone markets in volume terms and posted growth of +3% YoY in Q4 2017.
Huawei topped the charts in Spain with its P10 Lite and P8 Lite / P9 Lite (2017) neck and neck with the Apple iPhone 8 for second place. Samsung enjoyed continued success with its the Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017).
Among the top-10 models in Spain in Q4 2017, 5 models were from Apple, 3 from Samsung, and 2 from Huawei. The top 10 smartphone models capture less than 40% of all volume in Spain much less than in many W. European markets.

The Spanish market is highly fragmented with cut throat competition in the in the mid range in terms of shipments. Both Huawei and Samsung each had two mid-range models in the top-10.
