South Korea is among the leading smartphone markets in Asia Pacific particularly in value terms, behind only China, Japan, and Indonesia. Our extensive report, available to clients of our Smartphone Model Tracker (SMT) service, shows the top-50 best-selling smartphone models in South Korea in the second quarter of 2016. It provides an added level of granularity and depth, building on our global view of the bestselling smartphone families and models.

The Samsung Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 edge, and the LG G5 were the "top-3" most popular smartphones in South Korea in Q2 2016. Looking at the top-10 list, however, one finds six models from Samsung, two from LG, and two from Apple. It is a highly concentrated market among a handful of super-popular models, dominated by carrier distribution.

The report is a valuable tool for component makers, device vendors, content suppliers, mobile operators, car manufacturers and other stakeholders who want to identify and measure the most-popular smartphones by individual model in one of the leading smartphone markets in the world.
