Nissan launches Nismo Smartwatch for Automotive Enthusiasts

The wearable device sector is forecasted to grow shipments by 439% in 2013. With smartwatch sales expected to grow an even more robust 600% in 2014, Nissan, an unlikely producer of portable consumer electronics, has decided to play its hand in the smartwatch arena with the Nismo Watch. We believe this product will not see mass-market appeal, but will certainly serve the niche racing community well, and is a shining example of attractive smartwatch design, in contrast to competing watches from Samsung, Sony, and Qualcomm.  Strategy Analyics' Mobile For Automotive service has published a new report that examines Nissan's smartwatch offering and the automotive manufacturer's strategy for launching the device.
