Samsung and Apple ranked as the top handset vendors in Q4 2021, in 49 of the 60 markets tracked. While Samsung led in 30, Apple was at the top in 19 of the 60 markets, in the quarter. Apple led the consolidated shipments to these 60 markets, as it stood out confirming to the cyclical patterns in the last quarter of the year.
- Samsung accounted for over half the handset market volumes in South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Argentina
- Apple dominated Japan and Canada with over 50% of the handset volumes
- China, India and USA were the top three handset markets for the quarter
- Among the smaller markets Nigeria, Indonesia and Bangladesh stood out
