by Rajeev Nair | 11月 30, 2021

The Egyptian smartphone market declined by -6% annually in Q3 2021. This declined sequentially was -10%, in the quarter. Detailed analysis and estimates on the Egypt’s Smartphone market is available here, from the Smartphone Country Share Tracker (SCST) Service.

The clamor for the top three positions in Egypt is increasingly getting intensive. Samsung managed to hold on to its top position as OPPO and Xiaomi closed in. While the former’s market share was at 18%, the latter two held 17% and 15% respectively, for the second and  third position. Chinese vendors continue to increase their strangle hold on this market too. TRANSSION sub brands together alone went to account for over a fourth of the shipments.

Egypt has emerged as the largest smartphone market in Africa in the third quarter of the year. Can it maintain this momentum especially in light of the emergence of new COVID variant in the region?

Would Samsung be able to hold on to its top position and grow in light of external challenges?

Which of the Chinese vendors are likely to break out of this bunch to lead?
