Indonesia Smartphone market declined by -15% annually in Q3 2021. This decline comes after two consecutive quarter of growth and among the highest witnessed in the market in recent quarters. The sequential decline was to the tune of -13%. Our latest estimates, from the Smartphone Country Share Tracker (SCST) Service, suggests to it retaining the third largest position in the Asia Pacific region in the quarter.
OPPO, vivo and Xiaomi were the top three vendors in that order in Indonesia in the quarter. Together the top five vendors accounted for 9 in 10 smartphones shipped in Q3 2021. Of the last four quarters, it is the third time that OPPO has grabbed the top rankings here. While Xiaomi had upstaged it, in the second quarter of the year.
Similar to the other major markets of Asia Pacific region, here too Chinese vendors are now dominant and have grown at a rapid pace over the last 10 quarters. In Q3 2021, they together accounted for over 3/4th of the Smartphone volumes in Indonesia.
