Samsung continued to lead the smartphone market in Brazil in the quarter. Though, its leadership has been under increasing pressure, as its market share dipped to the lowest ever, in over twenty quarters. The exit of LG and Huawei have helped the likes of Lenovo-Motorola and Xiaomi to gain strong momentum in this market. For instance, the annual growth rate of Xiaomi in Q2 2021 was the highest and in triple digits in the quarter.
The combined shipment share of Chinese vendors stood at over a third in the quarter with Lenovo-Motorola in the second position. Apple was the third largest vendor and is the second consecutive quarter where it has held on to this position.
