OPPO, the fourth largest smartphone vendor, in the Indian smartphone market, in Q1 2021, launched its own e-Commerce store in the country. OPPO, primarily has been an offline channel vendor in India. Named the OPPO E-store, it was launched with attractive discounts on Smartphones and Wearable offerings from OPPO. It additionally, tied up with multiple financial institutions for no-cost EMI schemes to engage the Indian consumers. It also included features such as free shipments on all orders above INR 499 and cash on delivery options. All deals to go live on May 11 and applicable till May 17th.
Ramping up the online channel distribution will be central to OPPO being able to scale up to the top three rankings in India. e-Store is a key component of online channel segment. Additionally, online distribution channel for smartphones assume increasing significance in India, in the wake of second wave of the pandemic sweeping the country. With most states going under lock down, consumer reliance on e-Retailers and e-Stores grows so as to maintain social distancing and staying safe.
