It was the South East Asian countries that led the “Next 45” markets in Q1 2019. Per our latest report available here, for smartphones, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines were ranked the top three by shipment volumes.
The new and emerging "Next Forty Five" markets that we track accounted for 24% of the global smartphone volumes. From a vendor stand point Samsung dominated and led in 28 of the 45 markets tracked in the first quarter.
The 45 "new" countries tracked include: Argentina, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Switzerland, Sweden, Singapore, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
