Xiaomi Keen on Foldable Phones?

As the commercialization of foldable phones set to take off in 2019. Xiaomi has reiterated its intent to be at the fore front, with a video of its prototype device. The vendor was ranked fifth with a nine percent market share in its home market China in Q4 2018, per our latest report available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

This device from Xiaomi resembles a tablet with dual – folding mechanism (backward fold from the sides). The latest teaser from Xiaomi impresses with the smooth user interface transition from the tablet to the smartphone mode. The likely official name circulating for the device include: Xiaomi Dual Flex or Xiaomi MIX Flex.

Foldable phone are set to be a key theme in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC’19), with the likes of Samsung set to unveil its offering around the trade show.
