Ahead of the festive season, the Indian Smartphone market grew in double digits in Q3 2018. Per our most recent report, available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service, smartphone shipments grew by 10% annually and 24% sequentially, in the quarter.

Xiaomi, Samsung and Oppo held the top three positions, in cyclically the strongest quarter of the year. Q3 2018 did witness the highest ever quarterly smartphone shipments in India, however with a late festive season, growth did taper down in the quarter. We hence expect some momentum shifting to the fourth quarter of the year, in the country.
