Per our latest report, on the “Next 45 Markets” available here, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines were ranked the top three smartphone markets in Q2 2018.
These next set of markets accounted for 23% of the global smartphone volumes in the quarter. Samsung led in 26 out of 45 countries Global Smartphone volumes however fell by -3% annually in Q2 2018. Local vendors in most markets are ceding ground to Chinese smartphone vendors in many markets.
The “Next 45 Markets” countries tracked include: Argentina, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Switzerland, Sweden, Singapore, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
