Xiaomi India Launches Redmi Note 5 and its Pro version

Xioami launched the successor to the bestselling smartphone in India. Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are to further strengthen its top position, in the Indian smartphone market. The vendor with a market share of 26% in Q4 2017 led the Indian smartphone market for the first time ever, since its debut in 2014. The devices are exclusive to Flipkart in the ecommerce segment and can also be availed via Mi.com and Mi Home stores, from 22nd February. The firm has been steadily scaling up its offline channel share, per our latest report on the smartphone channel dynamics in India.

While Redmi Note 5 features regular upgrades, it is the Pro version that steps up with a dual camera and related features runs  on the Snapdragon 636 processor. The two devices are expected to further strengthen Xiaomi’s rise in the India market, taking over from its predecessor Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4. The latter has been the bestselling smartphone model in India for the last four quarters of 2017.
