Top Indian Vendors Realigning Smartphone Channel Strategy

by Rajeev Nair | 2月 09, 2018

The Indian Smartphone market grew by 14% annually in Q4 2017 and by 8% for the whole of the year.  Online channels accounted for over a third of the smartphone volumes in 2017 in India. In our recent report on the Indian Smartphone channels, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service, there has been a marked shift in the Channel strategy for most vendors.

Q4 2017 witnessed a shift back to the traditional brick and mortar retail outlets from the online segment. Absence of major online sales programs as was the case in the previous quarter festive season and a spurt in direct offline sales by the vendors were chiefly responsible.

The report provides detailed channel analysis by quarter, for the entire year, for the overall market and also by smartphone vendors in India.
