Indonesia Led Emerging Handset Markets in Q2’17

Indonesia and Bangladesh together accounted for 1 in every 5 handset shipments to the emerging nations in Q2 2017, per our latest report available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

The “Next Thirty” handset market grew by 7% YoY in the quarter and together held 23% of all handset volumes worldwide. It’s the Asian countries that dominate the leading emerging markets with 6 of the top 10 from the Asia Pacific region. Samsung continues to dominate most of these countries as it led in 22 of the 30 nations tracked.

The 'next 30' countries tracked include: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela and Vietnam.
