Nokia’s Comeback to India’s Smartphone Market

Nokia has launched the much awaited smartphones in the Indian market today (13 June 2017). HMD announced the arrival of Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 into the highly competitive Indian smartphone market. India grew by 6% YoY in the smartphone segment, per our latest report available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

Nokia, in its comeback to India, is targeting the mid-price bands, as the three devices command a wholesale price of US$186 for Nokia 6, US$169 for Nokia 5 and US$132 for Nokia 3. While Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 would be available via the offline channels, Nokia 6 would be available online and to be Amazon exclusive.

The smartphones running stock Android 7 would be upgraded to Android O.
