by Rajeev Nair | 4月 24, 2017

HMD global to which the Nokia brand has been licensed to, now is likely be entering the Indian market with its latest smartphones and feature phones, in June – July months. This follows its high profile launch of Nokia 6 in China, earlier this year. The intensely competitive Indian smartphone market grew by 10% annually in 2016, per our latest report, available here, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

Nokia’s handset portfolio is likely to include, the feature phone Nokia 3310 and Smartphones Nokia 6, 5 and 3. Nokia once led the Indian feature phone and smartphone market with a strong presence in Brick and Mortar retail stores and a manufacturing facility, to cater to the in house demand.

In its new avatar, backed HMD global, Nokia is likely to prioritize offline channel in India for its new Android based devices, unlike its selection of Online stores in China, where it partnered with JD.com.
