It is reported said that Xiaomi has started to manufacture Xiaomi-branded smartphones in Indonesia from later last year, through the partnership with 'Sat Nusapersada', a local EMS company. This local manufacturing is designed for the devices distributed in Indonesia only, and is expected to cater to the governmental policy of 'Tingkat Kandungan Dalam Negeri' (TKDN) smartphone law.

Xiaomi is struggling not only in China smartphone market but also in almost all overseas markets except India, so this initiative in Indonesia will be expected to help with market share growth in this country.
