French-Chinese Wiko to Knock the Door on Japan Smartphone Market

by Woody Oh | 12月 29, 2016

Wiko, a French-Chinese smartphone maker and one of the fast-rising local smartphone vendors, is almost ready to initiate the smartphone business in Japan from Q1 2017, most likely.

Wiko already established its Japanese legal entity around one year ago to look into the Japan smartphone market before officially unveiling its smartphones, and it appears that the first smartphone, Wiko tommy, will be ready to hit the Japan market in Q1 2017. It is highly likely that this affordable device is sold as unlocked phone in Japan.

Wiko's smartphone market share in France and in-detailed smartphone vendor share in Japan can be seen at this HCST report.
