Our latest estimates for the “next 30” handset markets available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service confirms to Indonesia being in the lead. It is followed by Nigeria, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines in the second, third, fourth and fifth positions in terms of shipments. These thirty markets combined, accounted for 20% of all global handset shipments in Q3 2016.

Samsung led in 24 of these 30 markets in the quarter. Both the Global and Chinese vendors are facing intense competition from the local players in many of these 30 markets tracked in the Mid and Entry price tiers.
