Reliance-Jio on Fast Track

by Rajeev Nair | 10月 10, 2016

Almost a month down the roll out of its “Welcome Offer” which included unlimited free data and voice calls till December 2016, Reliance-Jio claims to have netted in 16 million users. It was already the third largest smartphone vendor in the Indian market in Q2 2016, per our last report on the country, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

Reliance-Jio partnered with Apple in the last week’s launch of iPhone 7 in the Indian market, to extend the welcome offer to all new iPhone users. The offer to be valid for customers purchasing an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or iPhone SE from Reliance retail or Apple authorised stores.

Customers queuing outside Reliance retail stores for Jio SIM’s and LYF smartphones have become quite common over the last month since the welcome offer has been rolled out.
